They are twins. Galya is 15 minutes older. There are three children in the family. There is an older brother, Kolya, born in 1995.
When they were still children, mom and dad parted ways. Some time later, in 2015, their dad drowned in the Kur River, near the village of Pobeda, under unknown circumstances.
In September 2016, during a family quarrel, his stepfather, who was drunk, stabbed Egor in the stomach. Egor lost a lot of blood. He was taken to Khabarovsk by helicopter. Several operations were performed. The last one was in May 2017. As a result, he was left with a colostomy.
A few years ago we had one of our summer camps in the village of Pobeda. Egor came to the camp and so we got to know each other better. After a while, we learned about what had happened to him earlier. When we asked if he was planning to undergo an operation to remove the colostomy, he said that he was afraid of the consequences, because the last operation was very unsuccessful and with dire consequences.
But the main thing is that he began to read the Gospel and attend church services. In 2020, he received holy water baptism. After a while, in a conversation, he said that he agrees to do the operation to remove the colostomy. In November, we started the preparation process. As a result, the operation is scheduled for June 16. Egor has now undergone a preoperative examination. On June 14th we should get the result.
We ask you to pray for him. As of now, he is the only Christian among his relatives.
If God puts it on your heart, you can take part in his surgery financially. You can donate right here on our website, just add “Egors Surgery” in the memo.

Summer 2021 https://o4c.org/2021/06/12/summer-2021/ Sat, 12 Jun 2021 20:57:05 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=1071 Read More]]> Plans for this summer are a little different. Our local partners in Khabarovsk have some prayer requests. They changed the schedule for this years village ministry back by about a month. They did this because a missionary family that is willing to help them with the program is going back to the US later in the summer, therefore this is the only time they can help. The summer ministry is planned to start around June 21.

Changing the schedule isn’t the biggest problem though. There is a need and prayer request to anyone who can join us. There aren’t enough volunteers for this years summer program in the villages. They are short on leaders. Please pray that God opens a door for extra help, or gives them the strength and wisdom on how to do it with the team they have.

They have a VBS style program planned for the kids of 3 villages; Pobeda, Ulika and Sanboli. The kids program is developed by the local church where Pastor Slavik is leading his ministry form. It is based on the Superbook series in hopes of reaching the kids in a different way this year.

All your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!

New Horse For Widow And Family https://o4c.org/2018/05/19/new-horse-for-widow-and-family/ Sat, 19 May 2018 22:48:55 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=698 Read More]]> Some of you may remember the Koretsky family that lost their dad back late 2016. With the passing of their father, more than one thing has gone wrong for this family, and we’ve always tried to help. Just like when their washing machine broke, we got them a new one, this time their horse died.

In a village, a horse is the feeder of the family. You can plow your field, plant your seeds, and transport almost anything. The Koretsky horse got sick, and they had no choice but to put it down. But now they were left without the one thing that they could depend on to survive. Pastor Andrey, who has been keeping in touch with Nadya, said they were able to collect some support from his church in the nearby city. The new horse and carriage would cost $700, but they only had $400, so we helped with the rest. Thank God for the opportunity we have to help and for all of our supporters.
With the help of someone who knew a bit about horses, and the their transport, they were able to purchase the horse and carriage and deliver them to the Koretsky family. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.

Washer For Widow and Orphans https://o4c.org/2018/05/19/washer-for-widow-and-orphans/ Sat, 19 May 2018 21:04:04 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=700 Read More]]> Update on the widow and her five orphan kids in Moldova we’ve been helping. She sent us this letter.

“Greetings Edward,
I would like to thank you again for the support and help that you have given my family. You help me very much, thank you. Its very uncomfortable for me to ask you, but in confusion I don’t know what else to do. And I don’t have anyone to ask for help. Today my washing machine broke down, but I have a pile of clothes. I don’t even have money for the repair. We just repaired it a few months ago, and here it breaks down again. I need to get my five kids ready, because school starts soon. I pray every day to God. It is very difficult for me, please don’t leave us, without your help we won’t make it through. Again sorry, but I just don’t know what to do.”

Translated from Russian

After receiving this letter, we contacted pastor Andrey in Moldova to get details on the situation. He told us the washer has been breaking a lot lately, and the family has been fixing it numerous times. This time, the cost to fix it is more than half the price of a good-working used washing machine. So we decided to go with a good-working used washing machine.

And here it is delivered. In the picture you see the widow on the right and pastor Andey’s wife on the left.

Your support goes towards needs like this.

Aunt Nina’s House Burned Down https://o4c.org/2018/05/15/aunt-ninas-house-burned-down/ Tue, 15 May 2018 02:38:13 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=685 Read More]]> A tragedy hit close to home, in fact one home in particular, in one of the villages where we have been doing VBS kids camps over the years, a house burned down. Aunt Nina became a member of the local church in Pobeda when Pastor Slavik started ministering there.

She had been living alone in her small but cozy and always welcoming home since the passing of her husband years ago. Last week her house caught fire, we know it wasn’t from the inside, but exactly how, we don’t know. She wasn’t home when the fire started so its tough to tell for sure. As you can tell by the pictures, the house burned to the ground. They were only able to retrieve her documents before it became too dangerous to try to go back for anything else. As of now, she’s staying with her daughter, until they figure out the next steps that are necessary to take. She lost literally everything. She’ll need clothes, some sort of furniture, dishware, and you can imagine how much of everything else. Please pray for her situation and help her out if you can. All money raised will go directly to Aunt Nina.

Khabarovsk Winter Trip 2017-2018 https://o4c.org/2018/02/26/khabarovsk-winter-trip-2017-2018/ Mon, 26 Feb 2018 05:46:33 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=657 Read More]]> Dear friends, I greet you all with the love of Jesus Christ!

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10(KJV)

I would like to share briefly what God allowed us to do, with His help, this winter during the Christmas season.

Most of you know already that one of the regions of our ministry is the Far East of Russia, Khabarovsk Krai. That is where our team had the opportunity to visit 8 places with a Christmas program and the Gospel. These are the spots where people rarely want to go. The places we went are: villages of Pobeda (Victory), Novokurovka, Ulika National, Vanino, Molodezhniy, Zaozernoe, city of Amursk, and a shelter in Khabarovsk city.

Some of these places have houses of prayer(church building), but there aren’t many people that go there. For example, the city of Amursk, with a population of about 45,000 people, has 20 people in their local church. But some of these places don’t even have a church building.

This winter we also had the opportunity to buy and deliver some construction materials to the village of Pobeda. We’ve had this project planned for a while, and now God has blessed us with finances for this project so that we could remodel that little house where our Christian brothers and sister gather. There are several of them there, and God is still inviting more. Please pray that we would be able to do the remodeling work this summer. Also for the summer day camps that will be conducted during which the villagers will hear the message of salvation.

I would like to thank everyone who supports our ministry through prayer and also finances. We sincerely thank those who regularly support our nonprofit, because we sometimes get the opportunity to take on more projects, praise Jesus.

You can find out more about us, and what we do, by navigating through this website.

Again we would like to thank everyone, and many blessings to you all.

Below are a few pictures from the trip, but you can see more here.

Khabarovsk Summer 2017 Report https://o4c.org/2017/09/28/khabarovsk-summer-2017-report/ Thu, 28 Sep 2017 15:46:16 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=522 Read More]]> This summers trip to Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai. In this report you can find some details on the VBS style summer camps, orphan ministry, and the opportunity we had for ministering to broken families.

Camps Ministry

A total of four day camps were conducted during this trip. The first camp started on Tuesday, July 18th in Pobeda. We would’ve started them earlier but the weather wouldn’t permit us to fly out to the first village earlier. We didn’t have as many kids as previous years, but nonetheless, we were able to minister to about 30-35 kids everyday. The number of kids fluctuates because not every child is able to come every day. We have previously done week-long day camps in this village, so this was another time to be a good witness to the people of this village. There are several adults who we were able to minister to during this week. They weren’t interested in God or the church before, but now were interested in what we do, started asking questions and just watched the work we were doing with the kids. It’s good to see adults opening their hearts to hear the Word. Please pray for Pobeda and its residents.

Most summers, if we decided to do the day camp in Pobeda, we would also do one in Ulika. If you’ve been following our ministry, you know that Ulika is a native Nanai village. It’s very small, with about 35 homes and a population right under 200 somewhere. So everybody there definitely knows each other. Ulika, unlike Pobeda, doesn’t have even a grass strip, so the only way to get there in the summer is by river. The river ferry going from Khabarovsk and stopping at these villages has been overfilled lately. Luckily, we were able to make an agreement with a barge owner to transport our supplies and our team down the river.

The number of kids that attended our day camps here in Ulika was similar to that of Pobeda, even though Ulika is so many times smaller. Also, there were more adults that were interested to come and see what we do with the children. There is on lady in particular, her name it Katya. She was interested in our program when we were there two years ago, mostly because her daughter was in one of our groups. She did participate in some of our sports activities. But this year, she came every single day and was very active and involved. Please pray for people like Katya, that through the encounters she’s had with the Christians she’s met, she might come to Christ.

In Ulika, the House of Prayer(local church building) is being expanded by Christian Koreans who established it in the first place. Koreans are concentrated on this village because the Nanai people are more willing to accept the gospel than the Russians who are more dedicated to the very liberal life of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The Koreans are asking that Pastor Slavik would start regular visits to this village and preach there at least once a month. He has taken this into consideration, because he’s already making several visits there a year. Please pray for Ulika, the small church there, and the Nanai people.

Our third location was in Zaozernoe, not as many kids as other years as well. Throughout the year kids kept asking if we were going to come this year. When we did come they were very eager to see us!

Pray for Zaozernoe. Pray for the people there, the children who attended our day camps, and the parents who might be reading their booklets at night.

The local shelter in Voronizh district of Khabarovsk city is another place we have previously done our day camps at. It’s a shelter for teens and young adults hosted by an elderly Englishwoman named Joy who moved to Khabarovsk many years ago. She still teaches English at a local university, and also tries to help the young people in the city. This year, we had a very small amount of kids come to our day camps at the shelter. Please pray for this shelter and its success in helping the teens and young adults that go through it.

The director of the Village club accepted us with open arms, which is not usual for most Russians to do. She also thanked us very much, and told us to come next year.

Highlight Of the Camps

Every year we do day camps, we have our special camp money called Tallets. Kids can earn talents in many different ways some of which are: learning Bible verses, singing a song during our worship gathering, doing the homework activities they have in their booklets, and for random acts of kindness. At the end of the week, we have a camp store where they are able to purchase something for themselves. In this years prizes, among the toys, gadgets and stuffed animals, we had two wooden planks with Psalm 23 burned onto them. Nobody really showed any interest in these wooden planks in Pobeda, and someone bought one in Ulika. So here in Zaozernoe, we decided to do something different. Without telling the kids, we decided that before we let the kids buy what they wanted, we would see if anyone was willing to buy this wooden plank for 30 Tallents. The person that decides to buy it, willingly, we weren’t going to force anyone, we would let them choose a few prizes extra. Well, when we offered the plank up to them for 30 Tallents, this is pretty close to the maximum most of them had, no one really wanted it. Pastor Slavik explained to them, that the toys they bought would break, and the gadgets would get old, but the Word of God would last forever. Then one little boy asks, “would you give it for 29 Tallents? That’s all I have.” We said sure, and asked him if he’s positive that this wooden plank was the one thing he was willing to spend all his Tallents on. He said he was sure. So can you imagine the surprise on his face, and the faces of all the other kids, when we told him, for buying the wooden plank he gets to  choose anything else he’d like. This little boy had hundreds of toys and gadgets to choose from when it came time to buy his presents, but he chose a wooden plank with Psalm 23 on it.

Ministry with Orphans

I was able to invest into the Eternal Kingdom in some other ways while the camps were in progress. Olga, a mother of two, formerly an orphan herself, has been in touch with the orphanage staff and other orphans in that orphanage. She’s registered as a constant visitor and is able to take as many kids as she wants for as long of a time that she wants.

Using this opportunity, we were able to get children from the orphanage, just to take them out to the city, give them a healthy meal, give them some rides at the local city carnival, and just spend some time with them and show them love of Christ and affection. We were able to get the kids for a day, by groups organized by the orphanage, in groups of 7-8 kids. We did this three times. So in total we were able to spend time with and show love to 20 orphans! Praise God! All thanks to the support you’ve been providing! And although there were some concerns from this orphanages director, as she’s not very open to the way we spent time with the children, God blessed our time with these kids.

Ministering to Broken Families

I also had the opportunity to minister to several families and a few singles in the form of counseling and some financial assistance. Most of these families are single mothers. There are a few mothers who are orphans, and now their kids are growing up without fathers. Just going out for lunch with these single mothers and giving them some spiritual guidance, advice for the situations they’re going through, and that small amount of financial help goes a long way for them.

Partnership with Kingdom Air Corps

And we have to mention Kingdom Air Corps based in Alaska. We have been working together with them since 2015, and they have been a huge blessing! Kostya, the pilot who trained in Alaska and now serves as a missionary pilot in Khabarovsk, took his first missionary flight two years ago. He’s been flying Pastor Slavik to Pobeda throughout the year, and our team when we do summer day camps to the remote villages.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for:

-Kids camps, for the seed that was planted to bring fruit in the near future

-Orphans who were ministered to

-For broken families, single mothers and single fathers

-For Pastor Slaviks church and the spiritual growth of their community

Check Out This Missionary’s Response – His Thankfulness for Support! https://o4c.org/2017/04/24/check-out-this-missionarys-response-his-thankfulness-for-support/ Mon, 24 Apr 2017 20:13:16 +0000 http://o4c.org?p=474 Read More]]> Dear friends,

We just wanted to share a message we received from Sergei Ashenbrener in Kazakhstan. This is the missionary whose house needed major repair, and over the last few months, we’ve been collecting for this project. We’ve been keeping in touch with him, and out of the money we were able to raise, we sent him $1000 last week to get started on the leaking roof. He sent us a voice message in Russian, that we wish you all could hear, but most of you won’t understand it.  So here is what he said..

“I listened to your voice message, and was sitting here, with the phone on charger. My wife comes into the room and asks why I’m sitting alone in the dark. And I reply, I’m listening to the answers to our prayers. I don’t even have the word to thank you all enough, for partaking in this need.

When we decided to move to this village for ministry, we understood that we needed to do this. We had this peace in our hearts, and of course we prayed and taught our kids to pray as well. And now, as I held this money, I said to my kids, this is an answer to prayer. God has answered us! And they were definitely happy and excited. And we said, soon we will have new windows, good windows, warm windows, the windows won’t be leaking outside air, the windows will open easily. We’ll have a beautiful new roof, and we won’t have any more leaks! We said, we’ll update these old rooms!

Praise God that He made everything happen so wonderfully. And a great big thank you to you guys, for plugging in to help, and were able to spread the word. Praise God! Let God return blessings to you and all the people who donated for this need! We’re so happy, just happy beyond words! For us this is a huge amount of money! I don’t even know where we’d be able to make this kind of money, it’s such a big amount. It’s just unreal! But as it’s written, “…The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) Again thank you very much! And praise God that He loves us so much, and that He’s so wonderful, mighty, and omnipotent! Praise God! O, Praise God!”

From O4C, we’d also like to say thanks to all those who donated and took part in this need. We’re amazed by this missionary simplicity, humility, and sincerity! We don’t even know what to add to this kind of response other than Praise God!!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
